OverLooked Overview
OverLooked is a Ren'Py visual novel from developer zuricku, set in a fantasy world where power and loyalty are never quite as fixed as they seem. The story picks up after a brainwashing crisis has been contained, but the fallout is still spreading through the ranks of an absolute ruler's domain. Rather than dispensing punishment, the overlord at the center of events chooses a different path, one that lets old hierarchies of command and submission start to bend and crack.
Told from multiple viewpoints, the game lets players step into the perspectives of both a male and a female protagonist as the aftermath unfolds. Themes of corruption and shifting loyalty run throughout, with the superpowers wielded by the tomb's inhabitants complicating already strained relationships. Infidelity and betrayal also factor into the drama, as the once-rigid structure of absolute control gives way to messier, more human entanglements.
Presented in 2D CG artwork, OverLooked is an ongoing project currently at version 0.2, with more of its branching psychological drama still to come.
